Ithaca Area United Jewish Community presents: Bridging the Divide
Building peace, co-existence, and partnership between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel through Hand in Hand’s integrated schools.
Sunday, September 22, 7-9 pm at Congregation Tikkun v’Or
Monday, September 23, 12 noon at Ithaca College Campus Center (Taughannock Falls Room, 201 Egbert Hall)
Hand in Hand Center for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel co-found Lee Gordon will join us to speak about Arab-Jewish relations in Israel and the pioneering work of Hand in Hand building a new model of integrated and bilingual Hebrew-Arabic education across the country. Now with six schools and close to 2,000 students enrolled, Han in Hand offers a hopeful path for bridging the divide between the two communities in conflict.
Co-sponsored by IAUJC, Congregation Tikkun v’Or, Temple Beth-El, Area Congregations Together, Al-Huda Islamic Center, Hillel at Ithaca College, and St Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church.
