Interfaith Freedom Seder (Livestream)
April 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
RSVP BY APRIL 4
Join TvO for a pre-Passover LIVESTREAM of the Interfaith Freedom Seder +50
Connecting with the ancient liberation struggle of the Israelites as we confront the Pharaohs of today including Racism, Materialism, Militarism and Sexism
Seder leaders include:
*Reverends William Barber and Liz Theoharis, co-chairs of the Poor People’s Campaign
*Ana Maria Archila, director of the Center for Popular Democracy, who confronted Senator Flake in the US Capitol elevator during Kavanaugh nomination hearings
*Debbie Almontaser, founder of the Khalil Gibran School, survivor and “transcender” of bitter Islamophobic attacks, and founder / director of Bridging Cultures
*Rabbi Arthur Waskow, director of The Shalom Center and author of the original Freedom Seder
Like a seder: eat ritual foods in order; themes of slavery & liberation; be in community
NOT like a seder: eat dinner before you come; specifically interfaith; livestreaming
RSVPs needed by Thursday 4/4, bring a Passover-ish* dessert or drink to share, ritual foods provided.
*It won’t be Passover, but in the spirit of the holiday let’s forgo the usual baked goods in favor of fruit, crudités, cheese, chips and dips, or take the opportunity to practice a familiar or new Passover dessert.
Suggested donation $5-8. No one turned away for lack of funds. Any funds in excess of expenses will be donated to The Shalom Center.
Organized by Cantor Abbe Lyons and Laurie Willick
